Sri Lankan eyes focused on Oman

Lafeer (President), Lilamani de Soysa (SCI) c Elected just one month ago a member of the Swaythling Club International Executive Committee, Lilamani de Soysa has not let the grass grow under her feet. On Saturday 8th January, present in her native Sri Lanka, she organised a meeting with the Colombo Veteran Association. A most positive response was the outcome, a great interest being displayed in attending the 2023 World Veteran Championships in Oman. Currently, under the leadership of Mr. Lafeer who has occupied a presidential role for no less than 20 years, some 150 veterans enjoy playing table tennis. Happy New Year! A time to look forward, a time for friendship and understanding; a time to promote the long standing ideals of the Swaythling Club International. Also, it is a time to reflect. In particular, we thank Ebby Schöler, our retiring President, for the efforts he made for many years alongside his wife Diane. The contribution they made the sport of table tennis in whatever capacity elevates them to a special category.
