Dell Sweeris advanced to round two in men’s singles 75-79 years

Winner of the men’s singles title at the 1971 Canadian Open and a member of the Swaythling Club International, Dell Sweeris of the United States reached the second round of men’s singles 75-79 years at the Muscat 2023 World Veteran Championships in Oman.

On Thursday 19th January, after overcoming Finland’s Hannu Uusikivi (11-9, 12-10, 11-4) he was beaten by China’s Liu Changfa (11-8, 11-9, 7-11, 11-8).

The previous day, in the group phase of play, he had beaten India’s Syed Zaidi (11-5, 11-9, 11-4), Japan’s Yoshimasa Inoue (11-5, 11-8, 11-9) and Sweden’s Pan Ming (11-6, 11-3, 11-7).
