On debut  Chen Meng emerged the winner at the Dishang 2020 Women’s World Cup in Weihai on Tuesday 10th November.

The top seed, after having accounted for Germany’s Han Ying, the no.14 seed, at the semi-final stage (4-11, 11-8, 11-8, 11-9, 7-11, 9-11, 11-4), she overcame colleague, Sun Yingsha, the no.3 seed, (11-13, 11-6, 11-9, 11-6, 11-8) to arrest the title.

In the adjacent semi-final, Sun Yingsha had ended the hopes of Japan’s Mima Ito, the no.2 seed (12-10, 11-8, 11-6, 10-12, 4-11, 11-4). Disappointment for Mima Ito but later there was a place on the podium. She overcame Han Ying (11-2, 11-7, 11-9, 11-4) to secure third place.
