Staged in Tokyo from Thursday 30th August to Saturday 2nd September, Australia’s Yang Qian and the host nation’s Nanako Nazeyama, alongside Thailand’s Yuttajak Glinbanchuen and Rungroj Thainiyom emerged the most successful players at the ITTF Japan Para Open 2023.

Each won three titles.

Yang Qian won women’s singles class 9, before partnering Lei Li Na to women’s doubles class 20 success and Ma Lin to mixed doubles class 20 gold.

Similarly, Nanako Nazeyama secured the women’s singles class 11 title, before in class 22 she won the women’s doubles alongside Miya Yamaguchi and the mixed in harness with Hajime Hara.

Success alongside colleague. It was the same for Thailand.

Rungroj Thainiyom won men’s singles class 6, later in the proceedings alongside Phisit Wangphonphathanasiri won men’s doubles class 14 and with Kanlaya Chaiwut-Kriabklang, mixed doubles class 14.

Meanwhile, Yuttajak Glinbanchuen, after winning men’s singles class, allied with Wanchai Chaiwut to claim men’s doubles class 8 gold and Wijittra Jaion to claim the mixed doubles class 7 title.
