Members of the Swaythling Club International enjoyed success as the men’s doubles and women’s doubles titles were decided at the World Masters Championships in Rome on Sunday 14th July.

In the 60 years age group, Lily Yip of the United States secured women’s doubles gold, Zoltan Fejer-Konnerth and Zsolt-Georg Böhm men’s doubles silver.

Also, there was bronze for Petra Sörling in women’s doubles 50 years, the same colour for Denmark’s Neils Ramberg in men’s doubles 75 years.

Later in proceedings, Denmark’s Lars Hauth captured the men’s singles 60 years title beating Germany’s Boris Rosenburg at the semi-final stage prior to overcoming Italy’s Fatai Adeyemo to secure the top prize.

Gold for Lars Hauth, in men’s singles 60 years, it was the same for yet another Swaythling Club member, Austria’s Ding Yi in men’s singles 65 years; at the final hurdle he accounted for Japan’s Masataki Tokai, having in the penultimate round ended the hopes of Frenchman Chen Guan Meng.

Meanwhile for Croatia’s Branka Batinic, in women’s singles 65 years it was silver; after accounting for Slovakia’s Natasa Demurova, she was beaten by China’s Hu Fenglan.
