Joe Veselsky, founder member of the Swaythling Club International

The Permanent Mission of Slovakia with the co-operation of the Permanent Mission of Ireland plan to host a special gathering to pay tribute to the extraordinary life of Joe Veselsky; the event will be held at the Palace of Nations in Geneva from 1.00pm to 3.00pm on Tuesday 29th April.

A 28-minute documentary film, edited by Martin Mózer, including the exhibition of Joe´ s personal belongings will be the centerpiece followed by cocktails.

Now 106 years old, a survivor of the holocaust, resident in Ireland, a table tennis player of stature, former director of Irish FC Shamrock Rovers and vice president UCD Dublin, most notably, Joe is a founder member of Swaythling Club International. 

It is envisaged the event will bring together the representatives of diplomatic missions, academic and sports circles.
