Zsolt-Georg Böhm won men’s singles over 60 years accounting for Denmark’s Carsten Egeholt (13-11, 11-6, 10-12, 5-11, 11-9) in the final. Meanwhile, Elmira Antonyan-Brunner struck gold in women’s singles over 70 years overcoming Ekaterina Krasnova, an independent athlete in the title decider (11-9, 11-9, 11-6). Annual General Meeting Concludes in Novi Sad

Claude Bergeret was returned unopposed as President, a situation that also applied to Reto Bazzi (Deputy President), Jordi Serra (Secretary) and Richard Scruton (Treasurer). Lilamani de Soysa, Gloria Wagener and Zdenko Kriz were elected committee members. All propositions were accepted, including an alteration of the Constitution to increase the members of the Executive Committee from seven to nine as and from 2027. Alas for the third member of the group, Thierry Miller, also from Switzerland, it was the end of the road, competing in the Over 55 Years category, it was defeat in both the men’s singles and with Denmark’s Henrik Vendelbo in the men’s doubles. Tom Jarvis Receives Richard Bergmann Fair Play Award
Tom Jarvis receives the Richard Bergmann Fair Play Award from Clare Briegal, Chair of Table Tennis England Presented by the Swaythling Club International, on the concluding day of play, Sunday 25th May, at the ITTF World Championships in Doha, England’s Tom Jarvis received the Richard Bergmann Fair Award. Jarvis was nominated for the award as a result of his sportsmanship shown against China’s Liang Jingkun in the last 16 of the men’s singles. He agreed to a let when Liang Jiangkun believed the ball was wet after the English player had served. The award was collected in Doha by Clare Briegal, Chair of Table Tennis England. Later, alongside a framed photograph, she presented the award to Jarvis at a recent Table Tennis England staff
